The Assignment Rule Comes First

AI rules can change from one class, teacher, project, or assignment to another. A tool allowed for one activity may be prohibited for another because the learning goal is different.

An English teacher may allow AI to suggest revision questions but not write a first draft. A science teacher may allow study questions but not a lab analysis. A coding teacher may permit debugging but require an explanation of every submitted line. A research assignment may allow search terms but require students to read and cite the original sources.

Do not ask only, "Can AI do this?" Ask, "Am I allowed to use AI for this part of this assignment?"
